Give him more vegetables and fruits. He should also drink at least 6 glass of water per day. You should give him healthy snack like fruits, salad or yogurt. Habit is a key to healthy eating. You need to hide cookies and make healthy snacks available and easily accessible at home. If they don’t like the healthy food you can save it for later. When he is hungry and ask for food you can give him that healthy food. Another tip from me is mixing their unhealthy favorite food with healthy food. For example you can put slices of carrot into their spaghetti.
Ask him to do regular exercise. The easiest way for this is asking him to ride a bicycle to his school. If it is far away from home, you can drive him a few blocks from school and he can continue by riding his bicycle to school. You can also encourage him to go to gym for kids. Sport club like basketball or swimming club is also good. It will force them to exercise regularly.

As kids don’t have the ability to control their self, you need to help them control what they eat. You need to monitor what he eats. It’s better to prepare him lunch box than he buy his own lunch at school. This will also save money for your family.
